The Southport Flotilla has an area of responsibility (AOR) covering the area from the state line between South Carolina and North Carolina at Calabash / Sunset Beach to the railroad  bridge in downtown Wilmington, N.C..  Our members are from the general area and  meet  monthly at the U.S. Coast Guard station on Oak Island.  For directions to Coast Guard Station Oak Island, N.C., click here.  As a member of the flotilla, you will receive basic and advanced training in all facets of Boating and Search and Rescue at no charge to you.  All that is asked of you is an interest on your part and to make some of your time available for participation in the flotilla functions.

Meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month and start at 7:00 P.M.  Potential new members are welcome.  These meeting are held at the Coast Guard Station on Oak Island.  To get to Station Oak Island from the Southport, N.C. area, follow Route 133 (Long Beach Road) from Route 211 and go over the bridge crossing the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway. Continue through the traffic light and follow the road as it turns left. Continue until you reach the Coast Guard Station which will be on your left, just a short distance before reaching Fort Caswell.
